Three levels of schedules, as listed below and defined  will be generated:

·         Management Summary Schedule (Level 1)

·         Project Level Schedule (Level 2)

·         Control Level Schedule (Level 3)

The project objectives outlined in the control-level plans are ultimately derived from the Management Summary Schedule (Level 1).  This is accomplished with roll-down techniques.  The Management Summary Schedule is ultimately statused from the control-level schedule.  This is accomplished with the roll-up technique.  A more detailed description of this fundamental process is outlined below.

Roll-Down

Level 1 – Management Summary Schedule

The Management Summary Schedule will be distributed to Fluor Daniel and Client Management monthly.  Schedule variances will be used to identify potential problems / opportunities, allowing time to take appropriate actions.  Characteristics of the Management Summary Schedule include:

·         Statused and issued to management on a monthly basis

·         Contains 1 to 2 pages

·         Outlines key project milestones and activities

Level 2 – Project Level Schedule

The Project Level Schedule is the key baseline schedule for the project.  Characteristics of the Project Level Schedule include:

·         Is Resource-loaded and EPC-integrated logic diagram that reflects the complete project scope of work

·         Aligns with the project WBS

·         Identifies intermediate level milestones and activities

·         Is used by Project / Site Management and line management to control the project

·         Is used to generate 30-, 60-, 90-, and 120-day “look ahead” schedules to support material management planning

Level 3 – Control Level Schedule

The Control Level Schedule is a continuously updated document used at the Foreman level to support the execution of the work.  Some characteristics of a Control Level Schedule are:

·         Is identified by drawing and sub-dividing into work activities

·         Is developed to support “work packaging” of construction activities
