Generally, projects have an end date that is the basis for client financial performance models or product commitments. Failure to achieve these dates is likely to impact the competitiveness of our client in the marketplace and lessen the value FD contributes to the effort. To heighten the value of FD’s contribution, the desired completion date becomes a focal point and drives the execution of commissioning, construction, procurement, and engineering. The end result dictates the means by which resources will be applied over time and the methods that will be used to apply them. Client-dictated mechanical completion dates and commissioning sequencing are the most frequent “schedule drivers.”
